Miguel Marques (Lisboa, 1989) is an art director and graphic designer, living in Madrid. After graduating in Design at IADE Creative University in Lisbon, he extended his video and multimedia studies by doing a post-grad in Design & Television (ELISAVA, Barcelona) and a Masters degree in Motion Graphics Design (BAU, Barcelona). After his experience working as a Senior Graphic Designer for Vistaprint’s global Content Marketing team, he continued his path in advertising, as an art director for dommo agency based in Madrid, working for brands such as Reebok, KFC and Lidl. He’s passionate about 3D illustration, and pursues this passion in personal projects on his spare time, creating computer rendered compositions, textures, synthetic forms and patterns inspired by digital modelling. His inspirations and motivations come to life by mixing pattern design with other-worldy textures exploring themes of reality, surrealism and abstraction. His work questions the relationship between technology and digital art today, by merging different types of media from 3D technology, virtual models, photography, 3D printing, and glitch art.
